Czech Air

What are your experiences with this airline? We are flying them this December - Paris to Cairo via Prague and back. Had never heard of them prior to booking via SideStep but the price was excellent. Your comments are welcome!

We recently flew Czech Air to Prague (It was a Delta Airlines Codeshare flight.) Didn't have any problems. Enjoyed the flight. We did leave JFK about 30 minutes late, though. Sat on the runway for 30 minutes. But we flew from JFK straight to Prague, so it as not a problem. I think we arrived in Prague only 15 minutes later than we were supposed to.

Not only is it fine (proper planes, flight attendants who aren't ex-shotputters, no smoking), but Prague is a great place to change planes. Cheap internet access airside, pretty short walking distances, Euro accepted pretty much througout the airport, and a huge, un-modern restaurant/cafe/canteen, where it's possible to sit forever over proper coffee or soup, and plug your laptop into power points that just happen to be there.

The perfect antidote to CDG.

Czech Air is, as someone earlier stated, a part of the so-called "Sky Alliance" that has been enginerred by Delta and others to compete with the Star Alliance (United, et. al.). Their flights out of JFK to Prague are often code-shared with Delta.

I have absolutely no idea what the definition of "proper" is (guess we'll have to ask Flanner) but I'm sure you'll enjoy this alternative to walking!!!

It's a "real" airline--my flight was the same as a flight on any other "name" airline. Nothing distinctive, good or bad, about it--just like every other airline, IMO.

Hi

We flew Czech Air a few years ago and found the staff and accomodations quite pleasant.

Since we were flying from Prague, the movie was in Czech. We could sort of understand what was happening, but missed the really good jokes.

Thanks all - appreciate your responses. The comment about the Prague airport is intriguing and good to hear. I booked us this sorry itinerary that takes us from Detroit to Dulles to CDG to Prague to Cairo on the way in (the way back is the same except that we have 3 days between the CDG and Dulles legs so that won't be so bad.)

Have flown CSA about 10 different times, and have always been pleased. Have also been upgraded to business class a few times, which was really excellent. Czech film makers are among the best in the world, and it is great to see 1st rate films, rather than stupid American ones. I've always seen movies with subtitles on the long flights. Anyway, fear not, and fly CSA. Also, check out the web fare specials.
