Has anyone flown coach on this airline recently? Should we bring our own food? Are there personal TV units? thanks for any info.

December 2005 Amsterdam to Prague and return; a snack was included; since I slept most of the time I did not pay attention to entertainment units; overall a decent flight experience

I flew on Czech Air from Frankfurt to Prague in July 2005. They gave me a salami sandwich. The airplane was horrid and old. The flight attendants could have previously worked in a concentration camp.

I flew JFK to Prague last September and didn't have any complaints. I can't really remember the food, so would venture to say it was average airline fare. There were no personal TV units, just the "old" type of entertainment, a screen at the front of the cabin.

I do remember the coach seat seeming to be bit a more narrow then what I experience on other flights.

Having said that, it wasn't the worst flight or the best flight, but it got me to Prague!

We also flew on Czech airlines from Amsterdam to Prague. The best thing I can say is that it was on time both ways. The plane was old but ok although a few seats seemed to need repair. We were served some sort of sandwich, also ok. As LCI said, been on better, been on worse.

es,

The above comments seem to validate previous discussions on this airline: they make more effort on trans-Atlantic flights whereas intra-European flights are another story. Not unlike Aeroflot.

Have flown London-Prague several times on Czech Airlines. It's a 2 hour flight so not bothered about inflight entertainment or catering. Aircraft was upto date, flights were on time and crew pleasant. Some airlines have actually moved on, including Aeroflot.

I have flown with Czech Airlines from Amsterdam to Prague and back to Amsterdam many times. It is a short flight. They usually offer a ham or cheese sandwich, a drink and a piece of candy. I always enjoy the meal. The plane had more leg room than most airlines. The plane was clean and the crew were friendly. Czech Airlines is one of my favorite airlines.

thanks for the info everyone. We will be flying from new york, so hopefully,
Bardo 1, we will get a little better experience than the intra-europe flights. Although the comments suggest that the flights , while not at all luxurious, are very doable. I will report back.
