CT, Lake Como, Sienna, Capri, Amalfi - HELP!

Hi,

We are planning an 8 night trip to Italy in September 2005. We've been to Rome, Venice and Florence and wanted to try something different. We are really interested in going to Sienna, Cinque Terre, Lake Como, Capri & the Amalfi Coast. What would you suggest would be doable in 8 nights? We know that we would never do all of those places in one trip but we want to build a trip that encompasses at least 2 or 3. What are the best combinations? I really appreciate any advice!

If you fly into and out from Pisa, or into Pisa and out from Milan, you could consider the 3 northern locations. Having a car would make it easier. I would prefer 3-2-3, starting in Siena and ending at Como, flying home from Milan.

Laurenjosh - Otherwise you could fly into Naples (- or Rome) and easily spend 8 days on the Amalfi Coast/ Capri.

Hi L,

Good advice above.

Either go North or South, not both.

I did 3 nights in Positano, trained from Naples to Cinque Terre (La Spezia) and spent 3 nights there (it took almost all day to get from one to the other), so you can do it but they are both on the coast, although a different feel to each other. I think Sienna CT and Como would be the way to go.
Have a minimum of 2 nights in CT.
