amalfi and cinque terre

We have a week at the end of July, would like to see CT and Amalfi coast with a day in Pompei ....blazing hot, i know ;(..... We are flying in and out of Rome, although we can book "open jaw" if that would be better. Any input on itinerary and most relaxing way to do that? Accomodations? Car vs train/ferry?

Hi

If you only have 1 week..
Fly into Milan.. take train to CT. for 3 days
Train to Amalfi for 3 days.

fly out of Naples.

Hi, consentida -

If your goal is to have a relaxing time, you might consider skipping the Cinque Terre this trip so that you have a full week along the Amalfi Coast. There's more than enough there to keep you busy for a full week.

Enjoy!

I agree with kja - pick one or the other. I'd go for the Amalfi Coast with a night or two on Capri.

I recommend flying into Rome, hiring a driver to take you to your base on the coast, spend 4 nights there then farry to Capri for two nights. From Capri, ferry to Naples and take the train to Rome for your last week. That's what I did on my last trip and it worked out very well.

IMO you'll get more out of your trip if you don't try to cram both the CT and Amalfi coast in one week.

If spending the next week in Rome I would concentrate my stay to Amalfi and Rome.

Save the CT for another trip perhaps with Venice.

I have stayed in Priano and Sorrento and perfer to be right on the Amalfi.

You could easliy spend a week on the Amalfi and a week in Rome.

This would be relaxing and fun.

I have driven the Amalfi. It is intense, but you can do it..

I would not recommend flying into Milan to access the CT! Fly into Genoa or into Pisa.

Or just skip the CT and do Rome and one town on the Amalfi coast.

Hi Con,

You have 2 weeks.

I would fly into Naples for a week on the AC and then train to Rome for the second week.

Fly home from Rome.

I don't recommend both the CT and the AC in the same visit.

Enjoy your trip.
