Crocs in Croatia

I just bought a pair of crocs and am wondering if anyone has used them as walking shoes on a European trip. Also, will it look too weird wearing them in Croatia?

I was wondering the same thing. I wear them almost every day "at home". At 6 ounces a pair, I'd be tempted to pack them. If my feet hurt too much, I wouldn't care how weird the shoes looked

I just got back from a week in Coatia...I wore my black crocs (thong stlye with lime green bottoms) almost everyday. We just got our pictures printed and in photos where you see my feet it looks like I have on normal black thong sandals. I saw several pairs of crocs while in Europe...of course, the really bright colors DO stand out.
My feet were so happy and the darker solid colors were not too wild...my husband wore his slip on style with the toes out a couple of times.
Enjoy!

okay, I'm glad to hear we are talking about shoes... I honestly opened the thread thinking that there was a crocodile question!

Too early still for me...

I wouldn't worry about the weirdness factor. (Who cares what anyone thinks?)But I do wonder about their comfort for all-day, long-distance walking. 1jan seems to think they work fine.

My husband and I are big fans of Crocs and we both wore them recently for our 17 day honeymoon in Germany and Switzerland.

I will advise to purchase before going to Europe. They were very very expensive there.

We did tons of walking. We also had other shoes with us, but it was nice to switch back and forth... especially when it was raining .. crocs dry fast and are great in the rain.

They ARE great in the rain. I have them in a wild color, but would not hesitate to wear them in a calmer color.

Great to wear in the water as almost all Croatian beaches are rocky.Just walk in & then slide them onto your arm. Friends just returned & highly advised me to bring them on our trip.

My crocs have been to Croatia, plus Egypt, Mexico, Washington, DC, New York City, Ukraine, etc. I have six pair and wear them everywhere! Even 12 hours a day on cobblestones and my feet never hurt! Ugly? Maybe, but the comfort level wins out, every time. I've been wearing them for nearly four years now and they are the most comfortable things ever. Wear them and keep your feet happy!

I was wondering - could there be crocodiles in Croatia - perhaps in the zoo!

Are you all referring to the regular "clog" style crocs with the heel strap? I have a pair in lime green and it had not occurred to me to take them with me to Croatia and Italy next week. But heck - maybe I will!

I bought mine when they first came out, (made in Canada) and mailed for them after reading about these crocs in the NY Times. That was several years ago and I never saw another pair in sight on the streets. This morning at the farmers market, I saw one pair but several knockoffs.

I'm a limey too! Love 'em. Wear them almost every day.

They've got a Crocs vendor in the shopping mall in my hometown. Seems to be the latest fad; the vendor is always busy.

Yes, the regular, official Crocs with the heel strap. Now available all over. Hallmark stores have them, many sporting good stores, department stores and even a gift shop in my little Iowa town of less than 4000 population.

I bought my first pair from the official web site after seeing a tiny blurb in the daily paper.

The 'knock offs' are stiff, the little massage balls are different and seem to be worn by mostly young kids. My advice, if you're gonna get a pair, go for the real thing for about $30. Knock offs seemed to be priced about $10.
