Costa Del Sol in 20 November ???

Hi

am planning to take my honeymoon in 20 November 2009 for 15 days and i prefer Costa Del Sol ( south of spain ) but not sure how it will look like that time from all sides, weather, shopping, beach, resturants etc

Please help me to decide or give me another alternative in europe

Thanks

Well, for November, I would pretty much give up on a "beach" vacation anywhere in Europe. Marbella, for instance, has an average November high of 67F. It will almost certainly be colder by late November.

If you really want a European vacation, then I wouldn't rule out Southern Spain, but I would probably head inland into Andalusia, where there are more cultural amenities. In general, for Europe, I would never go there in November if bad weather would put any sort of crimp in my plans - it is too unpredictable and the odds are against good weather.

If you really want a beach-type honeymoon, then I would look somewhere other than Europe. Even if I wanted a half-and-half culture/beach honeymoon, I would be looking toward Asia or maybe a two-stop Colonial City + Beach trip to Mexico.

November is not beach weather any place is europe. It is simply too chilly. Not cold - but probably highs in the 60s. (There is skiing in the mountains behind the coast.)

If you want a beach vacation at that time of year you ned to do the Carib or Asia.

Southern Spain can make a great vacation and the wether will be plesant for touring, tennis and golf - but not the beach.

Agree with other posters, it is not beach season (though some days you can go and sunbathe, not swiming). This does not mean it'll be cloudy/rainy, though it may. Last year we attended a wedding in late November here in Malaga and the weather was sunny, shirt and jacket, we had a paella by the beach.
Besides, there are other things to do.

It's pretty much a year round resort although it will be quieter in November. The weather usually holds up around the 22°C mark during the day and most of the attractions are open, although shorter opening hours do apply.

Some of the hotels close during the winter months but you could still hire a villa or small apartment. Take a look at http://www.costadelvillas.co.uk/ to rent directly from the owner.

any reason why you want costa del sol? i agree with other suggestions re elsewhere in andalucia; granada, cordoba, ubeda & baeza, sevilla, jerez, the coast around cadiz...all lovely, al different and you can do most if not all with ease and comfort in 15 days - not forgetting stunning countryside and small villages. you can also find some v decent hotels with spa facilities and indoor pools as well as hammams (arab baths) if you want pampering. and of course the shopping possibilities are endless
* having said all that, malaga is a fantastic city for a couple of days too
