Converter/Adaptor Set-Samsonite brand
Hi:
I have a battery charger that I'm going to take to France and Spain. I saw at Target a Samsonite "Royal Traveller" Converter Adaptor set for $19.99; has anyone out there experienced using this kit to these places? any feedback?
this includes a 1600 watt converter and 4 plug adaptors.
I'm about to buy this. thank you.

I have used the converter and it has worked fine for more than 5 years. Make sue you do not exceed the Watts limit on the converter. I mainly use it now to plug in my camera battery recharger, but I have also used it with small travel irons. I now try to buy dual votage items if possible.

Look carefully on the battery charger...if it says 110/220 you don't need a converter. I've never seen any laptop computer "charger" that wasn't made to accept both 110 up to 220...again all you need is the adaptor. Those converters usually aren't very reliable...we used on years ago in a hotel in Amsterdam and it blew out the circuit breakers for an entire floor of the hotel...talk about embarrassing (easily fixed with a flip of the switch by the manager but I got religion from that day on)..now I dispense with converters and use only dual-voltage equipment...much easier and safer. Those converters that samsonite sells I think are rather low quality.
