Actually,<BR>in Paris a tie would be needed only if you are planning to eat in a really big deal place, such as Guy Savoy,Taillevent,etc.<BR>4Stars need ties the rest are happy with a nice shirt and jacket.

London can be cool in the summer time so be prepared to wear slacks or blue jeans and carry a light waterproof windbreaker. I'm going to Gordon Ramsay restaurant in the Claridge Hotel ( London ) this summer and my husband will be required to wear a coat and tie.

Kelli, he can get away without a tie I'm sure.<BR><BR>From the restaurant's website:<BR><BR>"Smart attire with jacket preferred."<BR><BR>I'm sure if they insisted on ties they'd say so.
