CLASSICAL MUSIC FOR SO. CALIF TRAVELERS

I am so happy that Kmozart is having another contest this year for a trip to the Salzburg Music Festival. They were considering cancelling it due to the uncertainty of a war, but I heard on the radio last night that they will have again.

I won the contest last year and the trip was wonderful. They provided airfare, hotel, 3 concerts and we received a digital camcorder.

If you love classical music, I say "bravo" and if you don't love it yet...give it time.. it can be an acquired taste.

There will be a drawing every Sunday for the next six or eight weeks. One entry per week. I don't have any connection to this station, but I enjoy listening to their music.

I wish I could win again: it was a trip of a lifetime for my husband and myself.

If anyone wants to know more about it, you can e-mail at the above address.

Kmozart [KMZT] is a FM station located in Los Angeles and is not very powerful. We usually lose it by the time we've driven one hour or so out of the basin. Perhaps you can enter the contest via their website even if you can't tune in the station.

I am glad to know others are interested. The Mozarteum is a beautiful concert hall with great accoustics. The programs are a mixture of wonderful classics (not just Mozart) with first rate musicians.

Yes, Salzburg is overrun with tourists, but if you get up early in the morning before the crowds arrive the city is devine.

We heard one concert at the Festspielhaus and two at the Mozarteum.

I live in Orange County and receive the signal just fine.

The contest runs for 13 weeks this year with one drawing each week.

Good luck everybody. I wish I could win again.
