Auntie Maria's radio station

We're leaving for Kauai in a couple of days. Yay! I'm so excited!! Would love to have the radio station and time for Auntie Maria's program. I know it will add to the aloha! Thanks!

I'm getting back from a walk along the bay in the early am, gazing up at the palm trees dancing in the yard, walking up onto that famous deck at the cottage and she is on the air... playing a song with the most amazing slack key guitar I've ever heard. I sit down, close my eyes and wish that song would last forever.

Suzie:
KKCR streams live online -- www.kkcr.org

In addition to broadcasting online and on Kaua`i, we can be heard on O`ahu radio too (northshore, and down the leeward side) at 104.7FM

I't not _my_ station -- though it's a joy to be one of the many volunteer DJs who provide the music/news/chat!

I'll be on the lookout for that special jerky! Hey, 2 for 1! Can you say inexpensive souvenir?! I'll be sure to raise a glass to the K9s while savoring the jerky and libation of choice. One more day until Hanalei!

Well...not in Hanalei...but it rhymed with "in a day". Actually, we're staying very close to Anini Beach. Yes, I know, I know, North Shore in the winter! Probably will be hell. The roosters, the bugs, the rain! We'll just have to suffer, I guess. Right now it is ugly, cold, and foggy where I live in California. Yuck! You are so right, sistah! How cool is Thanksgiving in Kauai?!

Our first trip over to the #ellhole was over Thanksgiving '89.

Mrs Kal called the then Hilton for reservations and the person said there was nobody there to take our ressie and call back.

We had heard how laid back it was on Kauai but we thought that was odd.

Until I went down to get a morning paper and the lady told me they don't get there until 6:00-6:30 a.m..

We got up probably at 5-ish and never bothered to look at the clock...
heck...the sun was almost up and roosters were crowing!
