Ciampino to sorrento

I would think almost certainly via Rome. Ciampino is a relatively underused airport. The trip into Rome is quite easy, and cheap. Take the half hourly local bus to the railway station (You can go all the way to the metro station, but the overground gives you some good views of ancient aqueducts, and gets you into the main Rome station, where you could change for Naples, then the circumvesuviana to Sorrento)
