Ciampino to sorrento

Is it possible to go direct to Sorrento from Ciampino Airport, or do I have to go into Rome?

I would think almost certainly via Rome. Ciampino is a relatively underused airport. The trip into Rome is quite easy, and cheap. Take the half hourly local bus to the railway station (You can go all the way to the metro station, but the overground gives you some good views of ancient aqueducts, and gets you into the main Rome station, where you could change for Naples, then the circumvesuviana to Sorrento)

Hi C,

The Marozzi people run a bus between Rome Tiburtina train station and Sorrento.

Thanks Willit.
What is the main train station called? I want to book a hotel near it on my return. Do you have to pre-book your train to naples if so what happens if your flight is delayed.
