Christmas in Granada

For a single woman venturing to Granada with a tour called Club Dance holidays ( sightseeing, dance lessons, shows)over Christmas, what suggestions would you make.
1. Is this a reputable group ( out of UK )
2.How is the weaather in Granada late Dec ?
3.Does this seem a safe and good holiday , for someone who doesn't want to be all alone at Christmas?
Please tell me what you think , and offer suggestions if you have any. Thanks.

Unless you know the group, it may not be great. Christmas should be with family and/or friends. Being with a group could be okay, if the other partners are fun. Otherwise, it could be the Christmas from Hell.

I looked at the brochures for the club and maybe it's going to be fun. It mentions about meeting new friends.

Hi smp9meditate

I don't know anything of the group although they seem to be reputable.

The UK's Independent newspaper mentions them a good few times in this article:-

According to some of the weather sites the average December high for Granada is 12 degrees and the average low, one degree. You may find that it will be pleasant daytime and cold in the evenings.

I think you've chosen a great way to celebrate Christmas. You will be with people who share the same interest and in a very beautiful city. Also, there may be a common bond as I bet there will be others in your group who also do not wish to be alone at Christmas.

Not everyone can be with family at this time of year. Indeed, some choose not too. It isn't compulsory! The important thing is you have decided to do what YOU want to do and you get my admiration for that.

Also, if you feel you need time away from the group there will, I am sure, be occasions when you can explore the city on your own.

The city is small, walkable, very interesting and I bet you will love your time in this unique place.

Hopefully some of the very kind people who helped me prepare for my trip to Andalucia in April can perhaps join the thread. They may be able to give you an idea of what Granada is like at Christmas.

Best wishes,

Joe

I agree 100% with what Joe says.

I understand your hesitation. I've just come back from Greece - my first solo trip ever and I was worried but it all worked out perfectly.

You go girl! You won't regret it and will have a wonderful Christmas.

Dear Joe and Milley,
Thank you so much for your thoughtful, and encouraging comments.
Some of us do not have families we can be with, to spend a Norman Rockwell christmas, and I'd rather be adventurous and be in a fantastic new place than lonely in the same-old, same old.
You have given me courage and hope , and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
May you be happy and well!!

hey smp9meditate

You are very, very welcome.

I know and understand the situation you will be in only too well. Like you, I tried to do something about it and that's why I'm with you all the way on this.

If you click on my name and find my other messages look for one called something like 'Potatoes 2 - My Adalucian Trip' report. I have some details of what we thought of Granada. It's a stupid title for a thread, but if you scroll down further and read the first potatoe thread it might all fit into place.

Again, have a great time - you will love it!

Yes, you will love it !! If there's snow in Sierra Nevada, it will be not only beautiful, but full of people that goes there on Christmas vacation to ski

When the sun goes down..it can be very very cold, much more than the one degree of the average but coming from the UK , you don't have to worry, just don't leave all your winter clothes at home LOL
