Cheap airlines from Paris to Florence

Does anyone know the cheapest airline to use to fly from Paris to Florence. I can't find any flights for less than $700 AUD. I only need a one way flight. I was hoping to find something for no more than 200 euros. The only other thing I can think of is to drive or get the train.
Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

Have you also checked Pisa Airport? It is easily reached from Florence and might offer better options.

Easy Jet flies Paris Orly to Pisa.
http://www.easyjet.com/asp/en/book/index.asp?lang=en

Pisa is only an hour by train (6€) from Florence (airport train station is 5 minutes from the main Pisa train station). There is also a shuttle bus (10€) from the airport to Florence SMN train station.

I think Easyjet is the only budget option. Regular airlines like Air France or Italia will charge what you are seeing.

The second cheapest looks like BA, going through London with one stop. It was about twice the price of Easyjet when I checked www.opodo.fr, but not even close to AF, Italia, etc. And BA will go to Florence, not just Pisa.

Not sure when you're going, but it may be cheaper to book a
round trip instead of a one way, unless you're going on a budget airline. If you only need to go one way, simply don't use your return ticket.
Mid June departures are showing.....
Lufthansa (connect in Munich) for about $300USD (apprx. 212€)
and Air France (direct) for about $388USD (apprx. 274€)

The cheaper alternative has been outlined by kybourbon
Easy Jet one way Orly to Pisa about 72€ + any added bag fees

thanks so much for all the advice. I hadn't even considered easy jet or flying into Pisa. But it sounds good. I could then hire a car and drive to florence.

Otherwise, I might try BA.

We flew Easyjet from Pisa to Paris last year and it was very easy and cheap. The Pisa airport is small and there's a quick train from Pisa airport to Florence.

No need to rent a car if you don't need one. There is a train at Pisa Airport that goes directly to Florence. There is also the Terravision bus mentioned by kybourbon.

You aren't allowed to drive in Florence so there is no point in renting a car as you would have to pay to garage it. You can read about the restriced zones (ZTL) on this link.

It doesn't make sense to fly to Pisa to save money and then rent a car to drive to Florence which will cost you a bundle.

Thanks for all the advice. It sounds like flying to Pisa is the best option and then getting a train to Florence.

>>>ryanair out of Beauvais and Easyjet out of Orly<<<

Orly is more convenient that Beauvais.

Even where you can drive in Florence is impossible. Many one-ways, two-ways that become one-ways, street names changing at every corner. Avoid driving here if possible. Also lots of traffic cams - I have the ticket to prove it!
