Cheap accommodation in Amsterdam?

Hi all. Is it just me or does Amsterdam accommodation seem really expensive? Does anyone have any suggestions for somewhere around Jordaan area under 100 euros? The less the better. Thank you!

I agree, Amsterdam is an expensive place to vist. Have you tried googling B&B Amsterdam? Some people stay in nearby towns and take the train in, but I would not find that satisfactory.

I usually stay at the Hotel Agora on the Singel near the flower market. There is often a herring stall (cheap and delicious lunch) just in front.

You don't say if you want a single or double room. We liked the Hotel Hestia which is just a bit more than you mentioned. It does include full breakfast and free Wifi. It is located near the canals and next to Vondelpark with excellent transportation

Oh yes I am after a double room. Thank you for the suggestions. I am looking into these and have managed to find a few more options through obsessive google-ing that I am following up also. Still nothing ideal so if there are any other suggestions out there let me know! I do need to stick under the 100 euro mark as our NZD isn't very strong against the euro. Thanks again!

Good deals for me

Even 4 stars bidding priceline under 100 euros

Works best for me.

A few years ago we stayed at the Bema Hotel by the concert hall. It runs around 90 euro today. It is more of a bed and breakfast type accommodation and noting fancy but it was comfortable. We really like the area. It's a bit away from central but very accessible to central using the trams

I recently stayed at the Hotel Verdi, also near the concert hall. Good safe area, walking distance to the Van Gogh museum, free wifi, breakfast included. Not fancy but clean and good value for Amsterdam.

Hotel Atlanta, Hotel Neutraal, Hotel Bastion Hoofddorp, Hotel Manofa, Hotel Plantage, and Hotel Rembrandthplein are some good cheap hotels in Amsterdam. These cheap hotels provide all quality services in very reasonable charges. You can book your rooms in these hotels directly or through online services, which is provided by Hotel's own website or through other reliable tourist or hotel websites.

The Bastion in Hoofddorp is not good for Amsterdam! It is Hoofddorp not Amsterdam.
Hotel Neutral is not in an area I would choose to stay, being on the Damrak very close to the station, Manofa is also on the Damrak, so not a top position, The Plantage is in a better position, near Artis and the Horta Botanica, Rembrandtplein is a good location but gets bad reviews!

You will be hard put to find a cheap hotel in the Jordaan, but there are plenty of others in good areas as most of the above posters have pointed out.
