Budge accommodation in Amsterdam

My husband and I will be in Amsterdam in September. We enjoy staying in B&B accommodation. Any suggestions? Clean, possibly on a canal, close to central area, approx $100.00 Canadian. Is such a place available?

Also is a day trip to the Hague by train doable and worthwhile?
Thanks
BHull

Oh? So, you're not looking for accomodation for your pet Budgie?

I looked at B&B's also, but at the time I wanted to lock in a price with the fluctuation btwn Euro and dollar.
So I went to Priceline and scored a very nice hotel room for around $60 (USD) near the museums. It was across from a canal but almost everything is across from a canal. Very clean, and comfortable, nice staff too.

A day trip to the Hague on a train is both doable and worthwhile.

Try the tripadvisor.com forum for the Netherlands.
Look for a thread called 'Bidding on a 4 star in the center'... it's usually in the first page or 2.
You can get a 4 star hotel in Amsterdam for under $80 (USD) a night... 5 star in the $100 range.

I find http://www.booking.com/ a very reliable website for booking hotels.

I hope you will find what you are looking for. Enjoy your stay in Amsterdam

We stayed at Kerstin's B&B, right next to a canal, beautiful view of it from our window, good breakfast, nice woman, block from tram, walking distance to museums.
