There is a lot of great info on here under cell phones. I saw that renting is not that expensive, but the calls made on the cell phone are. You can rent in the U.S. or in Italy.

I just ordered the free-phone deal through Travelphone today. It ended up being $20 (plus whatever I use of phone time, but all INCOMING calls are free)for the postage each way via Federal Express and a hands-free mic.

Is Travelphone a different company then Travelcell. If so how did you contact them? I put in the URL - (Travelphone) with no related results. I am going to italy for the month of July and need a phone available to me. I'd like to get one without having to buy or lease one for $100.00 or thereabouts.

Sounds like a good deal. But does travel cell charge your credit card some enormous amount until the phone is returned?
