catamaran

I have read about a catamaran that runs from Italy to Greece in 3 hours but can not find a website that shows what company does this, how much, when they run, etc. If you know anything about this, please let me know. My husband and I are taking a trip to Italy and Greece this summer and are trying to find the best and least expensive way to get to Greece from Italy. We will be taking this trip on a budget. Thank you.

My guess that it would run from Bari or Taranto to Corfu, which is on the western edge of Greece.

Do you know which companies might run this catamaran?

Google "Corfu ferries" and you will get all sorts of information. From what I can see, none does it in 3 hours, and most are overnight trips. It turns out that the closest Italian port is Brindisi.

The "new" and "seasonal" catamaran ran from Brindisi. I tried searching for the company that runs it, but everybody seems to be simply "updating their 2006 schedule". Well, that's how Italian and Greek shipping lines work, I guess.

So, hopefully, later in Spring, you may find some more information about that. Otherwise, there are lots of overnight ferries between the two countries. Since you're on a budget, an overnight will save you a night of hotel, and the fares should be lower than the catamaran.

That's true - an overnight might be the way to go. Thanks for all of the information.
