I have used AutoEurope several times and have always been pleased with them. They will often match competitor's rates. When comparing prices, you should know that Autoeurope lists their prices with the insurance included. Others don't, so be sure you are comparing the full package. You are required to have the full insurance (CDW? I can't remember the correct term) in Italy. This company is pretty popular with the people on this board. There are a couple of other agencies that get mentioned a lot also but I've not used any of them. Have a fun time!

I've been using AutoEurope for years and years, and they are a favorite of meany posters on this board. They will match or beat anyone else's rates, so I do sometimes shop around before booking with them. Great company.

I have used Auto Europe a number of times. The rates are great, they will beat competitor prices, and their customer service has been wonderful.

Both autoeurope and Nova Rentacar (www.novarentacar.com) have excellent reputations. Both also have toll free numbers in the USA.

Autoeurope is the standard by which other brokers are measured. However, I had better luck with Thrifty in Hungary, and since Autoeurope could only meet the price of the following agency, I saw no reason to switch:

We have used AutoEurope 3 times in Italy. I am currently asking them to meet/beat Nova's quote (which, by the way, is way cheaper) for this coming summer.

I am curious if Nova is a good company to rent from? We have been pleased with AE, but Nova is very useful for getting a better quote from AE. Makes me feel a little guilty....

If AE does not BEAT the Nova quote, is there any reason NOT to go ahead and rent from Nova?

We have Auto Eurpe for Italy and were very satisfied.

By the way, this last trip, they suggested a diesel engine. Boy, did we get great gas milage. (I guess we're stereotypical Americans and wouldn't have thought of that choice on our own.)

Nova is fine. We've used both Nova and autoeurope with no problems.

Thanks for the feedback on Nova.

Hmmmm...did the diesel cost more than regular? I don't recall them having a box to check for that....but I may have missed it.

Hi DM,

Whether you get a gas or diesel car will depend on what is available.

The price is the same.

The fuel is about 15% cheaper.
