Car and hotel in Vienna

We are a family of 3 adults who will be driving from Prague to Vienna in late August and would like to spend about 3 to 4 days there before heading back to fly out of Prague. Would it make more sense to ditch the car in Vienna and take the train back (we have a 2pm flight out the day we leave from Prague) or are there areas that we could park the car in Vienna and then drive back. It seems that the cost and availability of cars is better if you bring them back to where you rented them. But, if parking is going to be expensive and unavailable, we would look at taking the train back to Prague. Knowing all this, does anyone have any recommendations for hotels in Vienna that might have parking? Thank you!

The only way you'll know the less expensive option is to find out all the costs and add them up in the different combinations... the one-way rental surcharge, the cost of overnight parking, the cost in petrol and tolls to drive back to Prague, and the cost of 3 train tickets back to Prague... and perhaps compare the options to the cost of changing your return flight to one departing from Vienna.

You can search for hotels with parking on booking.com. You'll probably have to email a few of the hotels you short-list to find out the parking rates.

You can get an idea of driving costs on viamichelin.com
