Capris or Florence in late november
We're torn between heading to Capri or going north to Florence and Venice. Is Capris cold? Are the leaves turning or is it just as beautiful as always? Or would we be crazy to miss Florence and Venice for Capris. We are in Rome for three days so we will be in a beautiful city. I know there is no real anser to this, but opinions are valuable. Thanks

How long do you have?
If it's just one day, I think you wouldn't want to spend most of it on driving or flying to Venice or Florence. If you have 4-5 days, it will be better to go to Florence and/or Venice. If you can, you may want to stay flexible and decide when you arrive according to the weather forecast.

Of the three places you mention, Florence is by far the easiest destination to reach from Rome (about 2 hours by train) and, in my opinion, offers the most for this time of the year. I think TuscanyDreamin is right that you probably don't want to do a lot of traveling to Venice (6 hours by train) or Capri (not sure ... depends on ferry schedules) if you just have a couple of days, but there are a lot of places in Tuscany you could get to easily from Rome by train and the weather should still be decent, though chilly (esp. at night). So Florence is not your only option to the north.

The crossing to Capri can be pretty rough in the months from November thru February, and the weather is rainiest and coldest then, too. Since Capri is really a resort island, you may want to look into venues in Tuscany and further north.

Capri is a beach resort and in November it will likely be chilly and possibly rainy. Many places will be closed since it's out of season. And it's certainly possible it may be difficult to get there - since the ferries don't run if the water is too rough.
Why not save Capri until you can enjoy it in good weather, when you can see the Blue Grotto and everything will be open?
You don;t say how much time you have - if one day you can visit Florence - JUST - and see one or two things. Even Venice is too far for a day trip IMHO.
