capri hotels: casa morgano or villa brunella?
Casa Morgano or Villa Brunella? Which one would you prefer for a short stay in Capri? Has anyone been there or just seen the two places? (both are boutique hotels on in Via Tragara). Please help me on that - standard room size and views are of particular importance - so is ambience!

Katerina

We stayed at Casa Morgano in October and were very pleased. All the rooms have patios/balconies with views. There is a nice pool and they serve lunch poolside if you want. The hotel is owned by the same people who own the top-ranked Quississana. It is located in an area of beautiful villas a short walk from the main area of Capri Town.
We just walked by Villa Brunella and it looked nice.

Katerina- we stayed at the Villa Brunella last summer, and really loved it. The views were spectacular (as I am sure they are also from the Casa Morgano). The owner at Villa Brunella was very helpful and nice. I don't think you can go wrong with either place. Have fun!

We just returned from Europe, including 4 days in Capri. Actually, we stayed in AnaCapri which I would really recommend as an option. We stayed at the very reasonable San Michele hotel (just make sure and pay the extra $10 for air conditioning). You will be right by a bus stop, only about $1 a ride and you can always go into Capri Town, the Marina or other places on the island. Also, the little town of Anacapri is much more charming the Capri town, in my opinion (and everything costs less there also). The view is incredible!

Casa Morgano is closer to the end town end of Via Tragara, and I think that's a slightly better view. These are also very similarly priced hotels even though Morgano is 5 star, and Villa Brunella 4. (even if Brunella would be considered 4 Plus)

They are definitely both great, and you won't go wrong with either. But I would definitely say Casa Morgano is a little better. For the money (in the $250 range instead of $350 for the other hotels of the class) I think it's an excellent buy.

PS http://www.capri.it and check out each hotel listing - most have where you can get an interactive 360 degree view.
