We also took a private boat tour of Capri, arranged by our hotel. It ran about $60/hour. My guess is that you can do better by directly negotiating with the boat captains down at Marina Grande. There were quite a few of them asking if we wanted a private tour as we left the funicular.

For anyone going to Capri and wanting to do a boat tour, I recommend you contact an American woman who lives on the island. Her name is Rebecca ([email protected]) and she offers wonderful insight about the island during her boat tours. We had done a boat tour with one of the local skippers last year and, while he was nice and accommodating, he just pointed and grunted the names of the various grottoes without telling us anything about them or the island. She also does Amalfi boat tours, as well.
