Cannes to Naples

What is everyones recommendation as to the best way to get from Cannes to Naples in June, 2011? Need to be in Naples by 5:00 pm June 11, leaving Cannes early morning June 11.

Well, you're not going to do it by train - that takes about 12 hours - and the 7 am trains won;t get you in until about 7 pm. Earlier train has many stops and take forever. So I think you will have to fly.

Fly via Rome. Alitalia for sure. Perhaps others.

AlItalia flights at this point are insanely expensive. Train to Genoa and plane from there to Naples is doable if AlItalia would lower their fares. Best deal appears to be EasyJet Nice to Orly Friday afternoon, overnight at Holiday Inn at Orly, then EasyJet Saturday morning flight Orly to Naples. Total 300 euros for two people.

Hi; If you could get yourself to Marseille, there is a 10:15am [one stop] that arrives in Naples at 3:45pm on BA. Tight squeeze. Check it on www.kayak.com

How about a Nice to Turin train and then fly non-stop from Turin to Naples on Easy Jet?

Marija; That's a good thought. Non-stop on Alitalia for $95. Takes 1 1/2 hours and there is a 9:10am or a 1:55pm. However, it's three hours by car. Not sure about the train.

Great info on the 1:55pm AlItalia flight from Turin. But Eurail only shows afternoon trains from Cannes to Turin. Does anyone know if there are morning trains?

Nice to Torino in the morning (not that I think this is your best option):

I think you've got to bit the bullet and fly from Nice to Naples or leave Friday and overnight somewhere along the way. That would not be Orly for me.

Thinking now of just taking early train from Cannes (4:30 am) on Friday to Naples - arrives 4:20 pm.

I guess my link expired. There's a train leaving Nice Ville at 7:53 a.m., arriving Torino Lingotto at 1:18 p.m., with changes at Ventimiglia and Cuneo. But even that isn't early enough for the Torino-Naples flight at 1:55 p.m.

Bite the bullet.

Rather than leaving at 4:30 a.m., I'd leave at 7:08 a.m. and arrive Naples in time for dinner (6:10 a.m.).

I think the best we can do leaving Cannes at 7:08am is arriving Naples at 8:44pm. Couldn't find a connection that got us there at 6:10 pm.

Correction to my last post. You could leave at 7:08 a.m. and arrive Naples at 6:10 p.m. (not a.m.).

Are you searching here?

You should also check train schedules in another 3 months.
