Hello there<BR><BR>Although a seasoned traveller to Italy, I have never been to the Italian Riviera. I don't have a ton of time (3-4 days) or a ton of money. I have heard good things about Camogli, but their most known hotel, the Cenobbio dei Dogi, is out of my price range. Anyone have any information about the 3 star hotel Casmona? Their website doesn't seem to work, so I can't find any photos of the place. Will not have a car, so will get to Camogli by train from Milan. <BR><BR>Other reccommendations are certainly welcome! I stayed at the Hotel Casmona in late April. Very easy to get to from the train station -- about a two block walk. Very nice staff. Good breakfast. I was very satisfied with my accommodations. Their website www.casmona.com stopped working a month or so ago; don't know why, but they do reply to emails sent there (I think it's [email protected]).

We've only eaten at the Casmona, not stayed, but it seems like a fine place. Right smack dab in the middle of the pedestrian street that goes along the coast/harbor. Has an interesting umbrella pine tree growing right out of the side of its exterior--which by the way, is up a flight or two of stairs--which might be the only drawback,depending upon your mobility.

Food not fancy but just fine. We've gone back on subsequent trips there. Had a very interesting experience on our first stop. Were seated at a single outdoor table on a landing just under the umbrella pine already mentioned and ate deep fried sea snakes. Now you can't do that just anywhere. (Relax I think that's only the name of a sort of longish fish, like a cousin of the smelt) Tasted great.
