Hi, maybe you're not aware, but your heading and post doesn't mention where Hotel Fita is located. I think it's in Amsterdam as I checked for comments on www.tripadvisor.com. If it is, then the hotel is a good choice judging from all the good comments its received there (most recent comment is dated May 8th).

I almost stayed there last time, but opted for another hotel in the same area because of availability. However, the staff was very helpful and responsive to my emails, and the hotel gets rave reviews on tripadvisor.com. I love that neighborhood. It's safe, quiet and residential, but very close to all the museums. Vondelpark and Leidsplein is only about 5 minute walk away. Enjoy!

We stayed there in April and it was very nice. Clean, the proprieters are very helpful, and the bathrooms in the doubles are nice and big. It is also just across the street from the van Gogh museum and very close to several others and the streetcar. There were people there from England and the States mostly. The place is family run, including grandma who sits in the breakfast room in the morning and says hi to everyone! When we left they gave us a little gift bag with a few candies and a magnet of the hotel - very cute. The only bad thing was that, within a day of each other, both my husband and myself got sick and threw up, we think from the cheese we had at breakfast there (their breakfasts are nice. Bacon and eggs, nice bread, fresh-squeezed orange juice, etc). I don't think anyone else got sick, though, so we think we just have especially delicate stomachs, and maybe we just ate too much Gouda cheese. Anyway, I think you'd do well with Hotel Fita.

Stayed at the Fita two years ago and were very pleased wtih the location--close to a restaurant called Sama Sebo, where we had a good "rice table" lunch. (SS was recommended by a Dutch fellow here, who eats there with relatives each time he goes to AMS.) We even pulled our bags over the two blocks to the tram line and used up the rest of our tram pass going to the railroad station.
Breakfasts were good and we had no "food problems." Rooms and ammenities were fine. Good price too, although we were there in late April, so summer prices may be different. mhm

There's another thread here with comments about the Hotel Fita. I have stayed there numerous times and will stay again. It's location can't be beat; quiet neighborhood street, a block from trams, and a block from the Van Gogh museum. The staff is great and the breakfasts very good. The bathrooms are wonderful (complete with rubber ducky). They have a special on their website now for discounts at museums. www.fita.nl
