Calling GAC

GAC, you kindly gave me the following advice on getting from Naples airport to Positano :

"From Naples Airport to Positano, I would take the Curreri airport bus direct to Sorrento in one hour (6 Euros, 6 buses daily), connecting to the hourly SITA bus to Positano (45 mins., 1.30 Euros). Total travel time is approx. 1 hr. 45 mins., not much more than going by taxi or limousine. You also avoid going into central Naples to catch the hydrofoil or the Circumvesuviana train. 14.60 Euros for two travellers is better than 100 Euros!

www.sita-on-line.it"

Unfortunately our flight to Naples has now changed to several hours later, is not due in until 1645 & the next bus to Sorrento after that is not until 1900, which means we'll be getting to Positano quite late. Can you suggest a better way, please ? Thanks very much.

I don't really want to pay €100 for a limousine.

I think that he said that he would be gone until July traveling and unable to be in contact with the internet-this was about a month ago?

Caroline - The alternative is to take bus to Piazza Garibaldi station - and take the train to Sorrento from there.

From the airport there are 2 bus services:
- the 3S service leaves every 10 mins
- the Alibus Shuttle leaves every 30 mins

Trains leave Piazza Garibaldi every 30 mins.
Journey time to Sorrento is approx. 65 mins.

The bus to Positano leaves from outside Sorrento station.

Hope this helps ...

Steve

Thanks very much everyone, and especially Steve, for the swift response. That sounds better, Steve - we have to take a boat once we get to Positano, so probably wouldn't have got to our final destination until about 10pm using Plan A.
