caesar augustus in Capri cancelled our stay - now what?

We are scheduled to stay here 10/17 - 10/21 through a package purchased at a Luxury Link auction. Prior to that we are staying in Tuscany for a week, and after Capri we are heading to Ravello for 4 nites. The hotel is closing early due to water damage from severe rains. This happened on friday, and we still haven't heard what "comparable" hotel they will put us up at. Luxury Link said that if we are not happy where they want to put us , Luxury Link would put us up at one of their properties they feature or will refund our money. Don't really want a refund, as we wouldn't be able to find something at a comparable price at this late date. It is now Sunday and we haven't heard anything and we are leaving for our trip on Tuesday.
Any wise Fodorites have any suggestions? Thanks.

Given your arrival date in Capri, I can't imagine that it would be terribly difficult to find a comparable hotel on the Island, albeit without the terrific views. Bear in mind that, if it rains or is cloudy, you would not be enjoying the magnificent scenery from this hotel in any case. Why not settle on another beautiful hotel on the island, even with less of a commanding view?

I'd book something that is cancellable and compare it to whatever Luxury Link provides as a replacement. Pick one and cancel the other.

What is the "comparable price" they would refund to you if it came to that?

Wow. If that post is for real, I call that customer service! Msellie, you would seem to be in good hands. Have a great trip if you see this before you leave...
