Bunratty accommodations?

Any recommendations for a B&B/hotel in Bunratty? We plan to spend our last night there, before flying out of Shannon the next day. Thanks!

We stayed at the Dunaree in October. It was very nice, good hosts, a good price, a short distance from Bunratty and an easy, short drive to the airport.

Stayed the last two years and will again this year at Inishfree. One mile thru the Bunratty parking lot. Great breakfast,Pancakes and real maple syrup. Short drive to Macs Pub, Durty Nellies or the Creamery, 20 minutes to the airport. However they only take cash, 70 Euro for two. Upscale is the Bunratty Hotel across from the Park, nice but pricey. stayed there five years ago. Pub in the Hotel or 50 yards to the Creamery next door or walk across the street to Durty Nellies. Have fun

Bunratty Lodge is also an excellent place to stay.

We have stayed at Park House and Ashgrove House and liked both. (Park House was for sale because the owner was getting married, don't know if it's been sold or not.)

All good suggestions. Bunratty is basically a B&B village. The competition is pretty high so you can expect good service at most of them.

I second the suggestion of Bunratty Lodge. Mary Browne is delightful, and her breakfasts are delicious! Her brown bread is fantastic.

A third vote for Bunratty Lodge. Lovely accommodations and Mary Browne is very sweet.

Thanks to everyone for your feedback. I successfully booked the Bunratty Lodge for our last night in Ireland.

I think you will be happy with the Bunratty Lodge.

Right across the street or so is a service station to fill up your car prior to heading to the Airport.

We spent our last night at Bunratty Hotel on our travel agent's suggestion. After two weeks of living out of duffle bags, in and out of B&Bs, not to mention a bit of shopping, we were thrilled to have a huge room to spread out in and repack - and the King Sized bed was a bonus!

I am arriving out of Shannon about 8:30 a.m. I am not sure how much driving I want to do after and overnight flight. Thereby, if I can book this Bunratty Lodge is there enough of a town to spend a day in this location? Also, this might be a dumb question but I have never stayed in a B and B in Europe but are any of the bathrooms in the room? Or do you have to share a community one in the hallway? Thanks for the feedback.

survfan, you will be ready to get on the road after landing in Shannon. We slept a few hours on the plance. We just got back from Ireland last week and when we landed we stayed up until 1:00 a.m. Just get on the road and go. Just be sure and stay on the left side! You will be all pumped! Go to Doolin. It is only an hour or so away. Get directions from aaroadwatch.ie and get a good road map from Michelin. All of the B&B's we stayed at had bathrooms in the room. We also stayed at Bunratty Lodge on our last night. Have fun!

Ask for an "ensuite" room which means your bathroom is in your room. My stay in Bunratty will be this July for one night before our departure from Shannon. Be sure to confirm your stays; I just did and found our reservation had been canceled somehow. Glad to have found out about it before we arrived with a party of 4 in the during the height of tourist invasion so other arrangements could be made.

Did you book your reservations online or did you call ahead. Either way can you tell me a specific site where I can gain Bed and Breakfast contact information. Thanks for the help.

You could easily hit the ground running after landing (the Cliffs of Moher aren't very far away). A lot of people start to crash at around 1 or 2 pm...so you might want to be near your accommodations in the afternoon to catch a two-hour nap before dinner (Doolin and Ennis are good choices).

Or you could spend your first day in Bunratty enjoying Bunratty Castle and Folk Park and the Blarney Woolen Mills shops accross the street. The medieval banquets at Bunratty or Knappogue are very popular as is the traditional night at Bunratty...there are also several lively pubs in Bunratty.
