Budapest - Hotel Victoria - Where's the Catch

Comments appear to be positive. Hotel's web site photos look fine.

Rooms a/c, etc

Rates appear to be unusually low.

Where's the catch?

Other than the fact that it doesn't have a restaurant, no catch that I know of. We enjoyed our stay there. It's not 5* but it comfy and the people are very very nice. Had a fantastic view of Parliament.

I just stayed at Hotel Victoria in late September. My only complaint was that the shower door did not want to stay completely closed so the floor would always get wet. Other than that, breakfast was great and the staff was wonderful. Great views as well!!!

We stayed there in March. Lovely views, we walked accross the Chain Bridge easily to get to sites, tours etc..
Very warm and helpful staff.
Great deal.

Stayed 4 nights in May, 2004. The rooms on the upper floors have great large windows with views across the Danube. We echo all of the positive comments, the staff was quite friendly and the location convenient.

Justed stayed in October and loved it. What a wonderful view to have a drink and relax at the end of the day. If you decide to stay ask for a higher floor with a corner view!!
I got some great night shots out the window. As far as the rates...it depends on your budget...to some people it would be average or high. Happy travels. PS There's a store at the metro/tram stop for that bottle of wine....unless you use the minibar.
