It sounds wonderful! The 19th it is.

Believe it or not, on the 20th I might be trying to do some laundry in the evening. Pretty wild times, eh?

We have a guide on the 20th also, and we will mostly be relaxing that evening, maybe hang out on the terrace a bit.

Ok, so where to go? Somine always seems to be highly recommended, shall we give it a whirl? I have not done any research on restaurants (besides what Murat has recommended earlier in the thread) so if you have a place you would prefer let's try that.

When you are tired and do not want to go to downtown ( extra 5 min walk) than around the corner Dimrit Restaurant is a choice and little further cafe bistro Ziggy is a good choice a drink at terrace is good. But do not skip Somine and have your testi kebab there

Ciao,
Murat

Mike and Cheesehead...

I remember your comments on my Turkey trip report last year that you were both planning trips to Turkey...wow, how time flies!

I just wanted to wish you both a bon voyage. Have a wonderful time and I look forward to reading your trip reports when you return!

LCI, Thank you!!

I am getting excited. I am at that delicious one week away from departure period where the trip is getting close - not much waiting any more at all and the weather forecasts include my days in Istanbul - but I still (erroneously)feel like I have time to get everything done that I need to before I go.

Thanks for the nice bon voyage, Stu. I'll try to behave now that I know Cheese will be reporting on me.

Cheese, I can't turn down Murat's and everyone's recommendation for Somine. I haven't done any restaurant research so that sounds great to me.

It's official! After all this planning, we finally depart for Turkey and Rhodes Tuesday night.

Murat, so sorry that we apparently won't be able to hook up. Cheese and I will toast to you over testi kebab at Somine's.

Cheese, have a good trip. See you in Cappadocia!

Thanks for the tip about the natýonal holýday affectýng Somýne. I wýll talk to my wýfe about havýng specýal dýnner on same day as balloon rýde and day wýth the guýde. But ýt seems that any restauarant wýll be crowded on the holýday and we do have to eat.

Lookýng forward to the surprýse. If ýt ýs not the same as Murat mentýoned ýn my emaýl that wýll be two suprýses!

So sorry about all of the Ys. I forgot to use the Turkısh İ on thıs keyboard.
