Greece to Turkey! (??)
I am planning a trip to Greece and Turkey in September. My tentative itinerary is as follows:
1 1/2 days in Athens
3 days in Santorini
2 days in Rhodes
1 day in Ephesus
3 days in Cappadoccia
3 days in Isantbul
Is this reasonable in 14 to 16 days?
Is it possible to go from Rhodes to Kusadasi or Bodrum (to Ephesus), or is a stop to Samos required?
How do you get to Cappadoccia from Kusadasi? I have read there are somewhat frequent flights from Cappadoccia to Istanbul, so that should not be a problem.
I know--lots of questions, but this forum has always been so helpful!! any info is greatly appreciated.
thanks!

You can fly to Kayseri airport from Izmir Adnan Menderes airport via Istanbul. Or you can use night bus to Nevsehir (it takes 10 hours drive)
You can not go to Kusadasi from Rhodos BUT samos is OK.
Bodrum to Kusadasi takes 3-4 hours by BUS. So it depends on your time limit if you go to Bodrum instead of Kusadasi.
Have a nice trip in Turkey

Hi
I don't think there's a ferry from Santorini to Rhodes. There is from Crete. Check out - http://www.gtp.gr. Otherwise take a flight from Santorini to Rhodes via Athens. Try Olympic or Aegean Air.
Sinan, what about a ferry from Rhodes to Kusadasi? Is it possible?

I was on that boat from Samos (Vathi) to Kusadasi about a month ago. The ride takes about an hour and the second you arrive in Samos you will be facing a couple travel agents that will try and put you on the next boat to Kusadasi. Usually 2 leave per day.
It's easy... the tuffest part is getting from Santorini to Samos which I also had to do. I went to Paros and left on a night boat to the Vathi port on Samos.
www.turkeytravelplanner.com has a lot of good info.
Turkey is great, you'll love it!

Hi SFgo;
Just a week ago a guest/client of mine came to Marmaris from Rhodos. They were also in Santorini before.
Two daily ferry from Rhodos to Marmaris.
50 minutes boat ride only. Marmaris to Kusadasi is 2,5 hours if you drive.
Ofcourse if you can get to Samos easy, thats better... Ephesus is just 20 min. drive away Kusadasi. You can stay in Sirince if you wish. There are direct flights from Izmir Airport to Kayseri Thursdays and Sundays only. Otherwise a stopover needed in Istanbul.
Your timing looks fine but count travelling time as well.
Cappadocia to Istanbul ; if not by bus which I would not recommend as the time concern, Nevsehir Airport now has 4 days flights to Istanbul, From Kayseri 2 companies have couple of flights daily to Istanbul. If you book in advance it is ofcourse cheeper.
My favorite hotels :
Fanari Villas, Canaves or Alexandres in Santorini OIA,
Melenos Lindos in Rhodos,
Goreme House
in Cappadocia.
Happy Travels and have a great time....
