Brugge: Hotel Patritius or Hotel Aragon?

I am at a crossroads right now trying to decide between these two hotels for our visit to Brugge on October 30, 2007.

Both hotels get good reviews, both have had recent renovations, nonsmoking, good locations, breakfast included in the 105 euro per night for a double room.

From my research both hotels are a good value in this price range.

I've never visited Brugge and the online maps are, in my opinion, poor - unless there exists a web site that has a detailed street map.

Can anyone provide feedback on either of these two hotels? Time is getting short (this was an unexpected trip).

Appreciate any help.

I didn't finish my thought about a map of Brugge. What I was trying to do is find each hotel on a street map to see if one is better located.

Am I correct in assuming being close to Market (Markt?) Square is a central location? We want to be close to tourist sights, and don't want to walk 10-15 minutes from our hotel to get to the center of town.

That's about it folks.

We haven't stayed at either of those hotels, so can't help you there. But, yes, Markt Square is the "center" of town.

I highly recommend the Aragon. We (four couples) stayed there last October.

The location is a very short walk to the Market Square, maybe three blocks.

The staff was helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was good and plentiful.

They upgraded us to suites, which was also very nice!
