Boycott Political Posts
Let's start boycotting the political, non-travel related posts!
I really wish Fodor's would get on the ball and start deleting these posts or informing users that don't following the guidelines.

I read them if they're travel related, which is what this board is supposed to be about, no?
Perhaps you should post your views on a political board and drop the hostile environment you're helping to create on here.

In case you haven't read the guidelines, here's a snippet:
What are the rules of conduct for using the forums?
Fodors.com created Travel Talk as a place for participants to get and share advice about travel. To provide maximum benefit for travelers -- and to ensure that text and subject searches contain useful trip-planning information -- we restrict the discussion to travel. There are numerous venues all over the Web for conversations about politics, world history, and religion, or for parodies and salacious humor. The focus here is travel.

I disagree. I travel a lot domestically and internationally and I am interested in hearing what people from all over are saying about what is going on in the world. In my view, those opinions have a lot to do with travel. On the other hand, I do have to agree with you that sometimes these threads are taken over by some individuals who simply want to rant and/or engage in some rather juvenile tit for tat exchanges. Unfortunately, as in any public forum, you have to take the good with the bad.

Travel, I'm referring to the political only threads, not travel-related political threads. I'm being very specific.
Yes, we are in a difficult time, so I would expect to read threads that have to do with politics and travel, but not pure politics. There is no place for that here.

Biscuit, I'm with you, and from now on I'm going to ignore any political threads entirely. I've enjoyed reading some thoughtful dialog here, but within minutes Uncle Sam and his cohorts show up and plunge the quality of the discussion into sappy name calling.

I hereby declare that I will do my best to refrain from posting political comments (stop the applause, Sam) or throwing fuel on the fire of any political threads.
When it comes to taking the bait, I've been no better behaved than Sam. Frankly, I'm on overload from all the other sources of info and opinion in the world. I'm happy to come here and just talk about pleasant or helpful things where all can share some common ground.
