bounced emails from Croatia... please help?

Maybe someone could shed some light for me.

I receive emails easily from Croatia accomodations etc. , but when I respond / reply, my email gets bounced back to me undeliverable. I email from my excite account through my home server and at work (major university). Even from my university email, my emails are getting bounced back to me.

This is creating problems of correspondence and finalizing plans, making reservations, etc.

Any suggestions?
Thanks all.

Sure. Pick up the phone and call. Or send a fax.

I think that may be the idea, but wonder if you have ever gotten an email from this address? And what does your ISP's message say as to the reason? My ISP makes a distinction between being undeliverable due to the address not existing versus being rejected by that server, for example.

So, it's hard to tell, but if you've never gotten an email from there, it's possible what you think is their address really isn't. I get a lot of spam from some of these countries when I do things online looking for hotels, etc., and I think Croatia is one. But are you saying that you can't get an email from anyone in Croatia, from any account, and you've tried many? That's real weird, especially if you've tried different email accounts. If it were only one, I would suspect your own ISP.

I had a similar problem in responding to an email from Dubrovnik. Although they got my request, I noticed that when they responded, their email address was different than the one I originally used. You might check that.

I recently had a similar problem with e-mails to/from Croatia and DR using Excite. However, there was no problem when I used Yahoo.
Maybe try that as an option?

Hi all, I learned the hard way with phone calls and the resulting phone bill. I can fax from work, but it is a haul across campus. This is a busy time for me. Excite and my university server are both problems. AOL is no problem, except having to route through a friend... I just thought someone might have had similar experiences and were going through some of the same frustrations. I have a phone card, much more economical though not always reliable.... not all phone cards call Croatia....

Thanks for your input. And maybe this will help others.

I'm pretty good at throwing the bucks, it is just the dependency on emails and its time saving factor I've got to let go of. I'll pick up the phone when all else fails.
