Bonnieux
Can someone tell me phonetically how to pronounce "Bonnieux?" I understand the problem with the post "Can you say "Gare" so am simply looking for a simple pronunciation.........

Hey, luv.

If you think that there is difficulty with "gare", you have a real doozy here.

I think that the "ieux" is pronounced as in "yeux" (eyes). Thus, Bon yeux, but I am open to correction.

I think Ira has it right on - may not be perfect French as spoken in Tours but certainly close enough my French son says. the only decision for a pro would be which syllable to accent - the second one i'd guess.

Try Bown-eeyuh--accent on the second (last) syllable--you will find you will in most instances accent the last syllable--also, try for a bit of nasal sound there.
