Bologna booked up in April - Any alternatives?

I am trying to book a room in Bologna for the weekend of April 8, 9th and all I've tried seem to be full for that weekend. (Some I tried are Orologio, Novecento, Commerciante, Royal Carlton, Roma - ones in the $200-$300 range)

I also tried the Hotel Annunziata and the Ripagrande in Ferrara and had no luck. We will be travelling from Venice.

Help! Any suggestions?

Try Faenza. 25 minutes by train.

Must be a convention going on in Bologna for the time you're visiting. You might have better luck with someplace cheaper; I liked the Albergo Centrale, which is budget but a pleasant place to stay.

Have you tried the Baglioni? A few years ago the only rooms left in Bologna when we were planning to be there were at the Baglioni. As I recall..we said to hell with it..and booked a room at $350. When we arrived we were shown to a suite! It's a wonderful hotel. top notch service, etc....plus the scrambled eggs at breakfast are all yokes!

Try the B&B Miramonte. We liked it. It's in an old building, but the interior was completely renovated.
