Bofinger in Paris for New Years Eve?

After searching the fodors posts, I have come to the conclusion that Bofinger sounds like a wonderful way to spend New Years Eve in Paris. I have already checked out the Bofinger website as well. A few questions though...

-What can I expect for the price of the set menu?

-How far in advance should I make my reservation, and how?

-Any additional advice/comments are always welcome.

THANKS.

The restaurant replies to emails promptly. I suggest you contact them and ask since they should be able to answer your questions best.

francophile03,

I can't seem to locate an email address
for the Bofinger. Not even on the website. Any suggestions?

Had NYE dinner there 12/31/04. You won't be able to make your reservation online until 11/30-12/1. I don't recall if there was a special menu. We had a late seating (midnight) but arrived at the resto around 10 and got seated soon after but it was upstairs.

Anyone have any general comments about the food/atmosphere/service at Bofinger?

Pretty, traditional, friendly service. I think I've only had the steak tartare and the wonderful pomme frites there -- I can't seem to move beyond that, they do it so well. (They always say, "you do know it is uncooked meat?&quot which makes me laugh.

Reminds me of the time I ordered 'rognons' and the waiter said - 'you do know that's kidneys? ' Yup, that's why I ordered it. Same reaction with ris de veau, sweetbreads. Miam miam as they say in France. Just try saying it fast and it becomes clearer.

The non-smoking section of the restaurant is under a stained glass roof so ask for it. If they seat you next to the silverware station, ask for another table. Had the price fix menu and it was great and a good deal. Came with a half bottle of wine and since there were two of us, got a whole bottle. The third person shared the bottle.
