Bjorn Request!!
I have read many of Bjorn's replies about Oslo and hope you can answer a couple of questions.

We are headed to Oslo this weekend for a quick 2-day trip. Our list of sites is pretty full, but my husband is an avid skiier and we'd really like to get to Holmenkollen for the ski jump simulator and a few hours of downhill action for him. I have read about a rental place on the same tram line but am looking for some info that I can't seem to locate on the web. Any idea what time the rental place or mountain opens/closes? Any rough idea of the cost of a lift ticket? I noticed that there are non-ski things to do like sleigh rides, which sounds great, but any info you have about Holmenkollen would be helpful as only part of their website is in English.

And one last question...do you know what time the department stores/supermarkets close on Saturday? I'd love to pick up some cloudberry preserves and just have a look around in between the National Gallery, Resistance Museum, Sculpture Park and City Hall!!!

Many, many thanks in advance.

Amy-You'll have wonderful views of downtown Olso, including the Radhus (city hall) from Akershus Castle, which includes the Resistance Museum. (the grounds to the castle and the Museum are free, however, there is a small charge to visit the Castle). Frogner Park, home to Vigeland's sculptures is quite an amazing place. Don't recall an admission charge either. Have fun on your worldwind trip!
