Help - I need to see the Alcazar but have messed up.
My schedule is not so good. I will arrive in Seville on Sunday about noon and spend 3 nights. However, I have read that the Alcazar is closed on Monday and Tuesday we have made arrangements to take the train to Jerez for the Horse Show.
Has anyone been through the Alcazar lately? can you help me figure out how in the world to be able to see this must-see site? Any ideas?

Brahmama,
Are you traveling before Oct. 1?
As artlover says, it's open til 6 on Sunday afternoon, except after Sept. 31 when it closes Sun. at 2:30.
And what time are you leaving on Wed? It opens at 9:30 a.m.
On Tues, my guides show the Alcázar open til 8 p.m. until Sept. 30, but after that it closes at 6.
If you're traveling before 9/30 on that Tues, you can do the horse show at noon, then a quick lunch at 1:30, or skip lunch, then get back in time via train before the Alcàzar ticket office shuts at 7. In Jerez, you might have to skip the Sandeman sherry bodega tour after the show, though, (I think you had planned it correct?). It starts at 2:15 and doesn't finish until 3:15-3:30, depending on how long you taste!
Afternoon trains back to Seville leave at 3:41, arriving 4:47 and 5:38, arriving 6:43, which would be cutting it too close.
Because Sandeman doesn't open til 11 a.m. and their tour lasts 1 hr. with the tasting at the end. I'm afraid if you did the Sandeman tour at 11 you might be late to the horse ballet at noon sharp. Show lasts exactly 1 1/2 hrs.
Hope someone else can help more.

Thanks for the replies, Artlover and Maribel. (Ain't it good to know you got a friend! - Apologies to Carly S)
Well, I hadn't even considered Sunday. But I just checked and we'll arrive just about at noon. Surely I'll be checked in the Amadeus by one o'clock and should be able to get our tickets by one thirty at the latest. Not my ideal way to see it, but it will have to do for this trip and its better than nothing.
We're not going until 26 Oct - so the earlier hours will be in effect.
And that way we can take in the sherry tasting AND have lunch before returning to Seville.
Thanks again. I just wasn't thinking straight and had about given up.
And another thanks for the website and current hours, Maribel. (guardian angel of travelers to Spain)
Cheers,
Mama
