Best Western Dionysos Hotel - Mykonos

Has anyone ever stayed here? I'm trying to figure out my lodging situation for Mykonos and ran acroos this hotel on the web. Any input would be appreciated. It's located in Ornos Bay. Is that near the major sites in Mykonos?

Ornos Bay is a quiet bay about 3km from Mykonos town. We stayed at the Ornos Beach Hotel and loved it for realtive tranquility and ease of hopping on caiques for Paradise and Super Paradise beaches, but location isn't as close to town for the nightlife as some might like. However, bus ride is quick and frequent--just depends on how close you want to be to the hub of partydom...

We were there May 2001 and stayed in town. I definitely preferred to be in town and there are many hotels in town. We stayed at one...can't remember the name right now but it wasn't cheap. When we could not get to Santorini via ferry or plane as planned, we stayed one more night and came accross a hotel recommended by someone we met while there. It was the Hotel Elena, directly accross from our much more expensive hotel. Our room was large and delightful, nice bath and included breakfast. Can't remember the exact rate but it was very reasonable. You may want to check into it.

Kathy,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be in Mykonos the first or second week of June. Do you recommend making hotel reservations? Or did you find it relatively easy to book a hotel the day that you needed lodging?

I'd definitely book in advance.
I just did a search of Hotel Elena on Ask Jeeves, and it looks lovely (and inexpensive: 117 Euro during high season!!)

d.
