Best way to get to Airport in Rome on a Sunday morning
Hello trusty Fodorites....
We are only a few short days away from leaving for our trip to Europe! Can anyone give me a suggestion on the best way to go to FMO on an early Sunday morning? Our flight leaves at 8:05AM! I would think we would want to be at the airport no later than 5:30AM. We are staying in central Rome.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We used a car service. http://www.romecabs.com/transfers.html
At that hour of the morning, I don't think it's possible to get the Leonardo Express.

Thank you Ekscrunchy.
We aren't taking a cruise, we are actually backpacking through Europe (Minus the hostels! )
All of your help is greatly appreciated! It has made planning this trip so much easier!

Here is a good website that explains all the options, and basically concludes that a car service is a good thing:

US Airways sometimes tells us that we need to be at the airport 3 hours ahead of time for FCO and other European airports. I'm not sure who you are flying, or to where. If you are connecting within Europe, on a European flagged carrier, I wouldn't worry about being there before 6.
If you are flying on a US flagged carrier, it can be slow going at the airport. US Airways, for instance, has one flight a day in and out of FCO; they aren't really well staffed there. I think it is best to ask your airline what time you should be at the airport.
