Best way to get from Nice to Monte Carlo?

We will be taking a cruise which embarks from Monte Carlo. We will be using f.f. miles flying into Nice and not sure how to get to Monte Carlo. Is there a train near by the Nice airport? Is a taxi a better way? They look very close together. Thanks for advice.

There is a very good train service along the coast; beautiful scenery too. Take a taxi from the airport to the station.

There is also a good bus service which costs much less than a taxi, and a helicopter service which costs much more.

Thank you. I was hoping that there was transportation directly from the Nice airport. Hate the idea of schleping our luggage around Nice. I was spoiled in Switzerland where the train hooks up directly in the airport. Thanks.

Although we spent a lot of time on buses in the Nice area, we have not traveled by bus from Nice airport. I can tell you that train from Nice to Monaco is a breeze.

Just checked to see if I could find a bus schedule for the airport, and this page

http://www.beyond.fr/travel/airnice.html

not only has a bus schedule but also has almost everything else you need, including an airport map.

The airport is quite small and easy to use. The taxi ride into Nice is around 15 minutes, so doing the taxi/train thing would be quite easy and comfortable.

You may want to bear in mind that in June, part of the Monte Carlo train tunnel collapsed, which means that train travel between Nice and Italy has been severely disrupted. I believe that some local trains are still running between Nice and Monaco, but high-speed TGVs not terminating in Monaco have been affected. Either way, expect timetable changes and make sure you have plenty of time. ALternatively, do as others have suggested and take the bus. Might be less stressful, given the circumstances!!

The train stops in the airport terminal only a 20 minute ride to Monte Carlo. Will you be staying at a hotel in Monte Carlo? If so, take a limo it will cost about $70, but you don't have to lug bags etc.
They are very close.

Just a little FYI-
The taxi from the Nice airport into Nice- although about a 2 minute ride- is a automatic 25 euros- to my hotel- in the center of town-was 42 Euros. The taxis are nice and very clean. The bus station was a little further on- it costs 3.50 E to go to Monaco- about a 45 min. ride.
Very pretty drive!!
A limo. ride would be a great idea for a family.
I took the Airport bus from outside my hotel in Monaco right to the Nice airport for 40 Euros.

So it's either a bus from airport to Monaco for 40 Euro person or a taxi for 70 Euro (for the taxi).

The taxi at least will drop you at your hotel. The bus has certain stops in Monaco (and if not your hotel) then you have to take a taxi to your hotel.

Check the website given above and find out more details.

€ 14 for bus from Nice airport to Monaco (22 for round trip). 45 minutes. Departures every hour from 9:00 to 20:00 plus 21:15. http://www.nice.aeroport.fr/acces_st.../recherche.asp.
