Best route to tour Andalucia..PLS. HELP!!

Hi everyone
Pls. help!! WE would be visiting Andalucia in Easter and we'll arrive in Seville first from Paris. We would like to visit Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Ronda and some nearby towns. Since we have to go back to Paris from Seville (the flight would be 2:00pm), which is the best route to travel these towns? Should we leave Granada for last and then take the early morning train back to Seville to catch the flight? Thank you!!

Will you be traveling exclusively between the major points by train, bus, or will you be renting a car in order to see some of the smaller villages not reachable by train, or too time consuming by autobus? Also, how long are you going to be in Andalucía? A little more information would be helpful in offer suggestions.

We recently spent 8 days on a very similar itinerary. You don't mention how long you will be in Andalucia. We started in Malaga, spent one night in a small white village names Frigiliana. We then drove to Granada through the Alpajurras. We spent only one night in Granada which allowed us to visit the Alhambra - wonderful! We could have spent 2 days. We drove to Seville where we spent 4 days. We intended to take a day trip to Cordoba but enjoyed Seville too much to leave. We then traveled to a small white village called Gaucin, visiting Ronda on the way. We spent 2 days in Gaucin and also visited Arcos, Grazelema and a couple of other towns. We loved Andalucia but 8 days barely allowed us to scratch the surface. By the way, we used a car for the entire trip.

Hi Rita

Seville is a good central place to start.
You could go to Cadiz, Arcos de la Frontera, Grazalema, Ronda and then Granada. There is a train to Granda from Ronda, return to Seville on the train as well. I would highly recommend at least a day trip to Cordoba, which is about an hour on the AVE from Sevilla.

as you dont mention how long your trip is,,i would recommend 1-2 nights in Cordoba, 2-3 in Granada, 1 in Ronda, at least one in Arcos and as much time in Seville as you like

Another question I have is if you can change your plane ticket to be open-jaw--in other words, fly into Paris and out of Malaga.

Also, as others have pointed out, you don't say how long you'll have in Andalucia or if you want to go by train or rent a car.

If you give us more information, we can hopefully give you more help.

Dear all
Thanks so much for the replies. We would arrive in Seville from Paris on 25/3 at 1:00pm and have to take the flight back from there on 2/4 at 2:00pm. So literally, we have almost 8 full days to explore the area. We go more for public transports this time as the bus and train are so efficient and convenient. We think we stay in Seville for the first 2 nights and then go back from Granada (2 nights) and spend one more night in Seville the day before the flight to Paris. What do you say??

Public transportation (the train) is fine for moving between main cities/villages, but for the time you have, you may want to consider renting a small car to see some of the other areas, including the area around Jaén and Úbeda, which are well worth your time. Cordoba is nice, but I have a hard time spending more then one day there. Granada is okay for two nights, Ronda is also good for two nights, but the rest of the time I would spend in Sevilla and rent a car on a daily basis to see some of the other area, including Jerez and Arcos, on the way to Ronda, returning to Paris from Sevilla.

With 8 days, I think you should stick with Seville (day trip to Cordoba), Ronda, and Granada. Maybe from Granada, fly back to Paris from Malaga. Check out good deals on flights with whichbudget.com.

Hi Artlover

Do you mean we should fly to Malaga from Granada and then from there fly back to Paris? Have checked the whichbudget.com website but it seems there's no flight from Granada to Malaga......

Most Malaga and Sevilla flights go through Madrid. You can't fly from Granada to Malaga, too close, you could almost walk the disance. Stick with flying back to Paris from Sevilla via Madrid.
