Bern or Geneva

We'll be in Switzerland in a couple months, and are finding ourselves with a "bonus" day where we could spend some time in a city in Switzerland. We'll already be spending alot of time in the Alps, and will have spent some time in Luzern and Zurich. It looks like Bern will be on our path (we're travelling exclusively by rail) and we'll be flying out of Geneva.

With our bonus day, would you recommend we fit in a day in Bern, or just get to Geneva a day early? Thanks!

Geneva - the old town is charming and the lake beautiful. Never mind the incredible Chillon Castle.

We have been to Bern and found it sort of flat - esp after Lucerne.

I've been to Bern but not Geneva. It was just okay to me.

I live in Lausanne which is not too far from Geneva and have been to both places and there is a lot more to do in Geneva. Take a ride on one of our old steamboats from the turn of the 1900's over to Evian, like someone else said, visit Chateau de Chillon near Montreux. Bern - bears in a cage.
