Berlin Luxury Hotel Recommendation

Just impulsively grabbed opportunity to extend business trip in Paris to include three day weekend in Berlin. Will be traveling from Paris to Berlin on Friday Apr 30 and depart Berlin for home in States on Monday. Because there is not much time before trip first thing I want to do is book room and would appreciate your suggestions. Here are the particulars:
• Never been to Berlin
• Traveling with wife, we are seasoned travelers
• We would prefer a higher end luxury hotel
• I have a bajillion Marriott points but staying at one of their properties is not a must
Have just started investigating and noticed there is a Ritz Carlton and property called Mandala. Was wondering if anyone has experience with either of these and/or could recommend another property.
Appreciate your help.

I love the Adlon, some on this site say the lobby bar is full of tourists but I found it to be very nice. Great spa and room service. I thought the rooms were first class and a bargain for Europe.

Thanks kfusto, I hadn't realized one could book Ritz Carlton with Marriott points. Looked into and not only was RC Berlin avialable during my open dates but I got super saver rate as well!

Glad it worked out! It is a benefit not advertised so you have to dig to find it.

I have stayed in many luxury hotels in Berlin.

IMO, the best of the best is Rocco Forte's Hotel de Rome: boutique hotel feeling, cozy contemporary design.

The Adlon is the classic grand hotel - for my taste a little bit too pretentious and a little bit too much mocking of historical styles. However, the junior suites are beautiful.

The Ritz Carlton is designed for thee 65+ generation.
