Bed bugs in France?

The majority of our trip was in Italy, the flight from Florence to Paris, was also like a hospital waiting room, coughing all around nonstop.
Hardly any masks in sight at any of our locations and still massive crowds everywhere we went.
I do think some have had unfortunate bedbug experiences, but this has been true with travel anywhere for a long time.
Unfortunately, I think alarmist headlines seem to be popular now.
