Bath or Spa In Austria

My wife and I are going to Austria on our honeymoon in November. We would like to possibly go to an Austrian spa for an afternoon. Does anyone have any suggestions? What kind of costs are expected?

They have very good spas in Vienna. However, if you go only for sauna.turkish bath, relaxation, massage, swimming, go to one of the "Hallenbad". The prices are very good and they are clean and a lot of fun. However, be ready to go NAKED except for the pool, as this is a requirement. Some days are mixed (coed).
Hope this will help you. Hello Mike,

do a search for "Baden" on the web. It`s near Vienna and the most famous spa town in Austria. Prices will depend on what kind of service you expect to get. But the facilities of that town will surely offer everything you might want.

Regards
Miriam

Dear MiKe,

I don't know where your travels in Austria will take you, but if you do(or can) travel south of Salzburg about 70 miles, we can heartily recommend the thermal resort of Warmbad Villach.

It is a small resort of three major spa hotels. We used Der Karawankenhof(****).
The setting is gorgeous--nestled in the mountains. We were there in November 2000 and there was snow on the alpine peaks.

The Karawankenhof has amazing indoor /outdoor thermal pool areas.

The costs in November were very reasonable, but I would recommend at least an overnight --an afternoon would be too short.

This may give you an idea of cost( it's from their brochure)

BEAUTY CARE AND RELAX PACKAGE
Inc. 3 nights in a double room with buffet breakfast, half board with 4-course menu choices, salad bar, in-house thermal adventure spa, 1 skin assessment, deep cleansing, peeling, facial mask, brush massage and full body cream pack---3,990 ATS per person sharing a double.

We went for an overnight and loved it. You can arrange any spa treatment separately, or you can buy a package.

One of the best parts was swimming in the outdoor thermal pool at night, when the stars were brillant in the sky, the mists from the heat of the waters were floating eerily , and your nose was cold from the 30 degree outdoor temp and your body was feeling warm and relaxed.

You can find them on the web, or e-mail me if you like.
