Barcelona - Majestic Hotel or Avenida Palace??

We'll be in Barcelona in October and would like to stay at a nice hotel that is close to everything. The Majestic looks very nice but is about 100euros more a night. Anyone stayed in either one??

Yes. If you want something in the upper end, then the Majestic will do just fine. Bite the bullet, so to speak, and enjoy the experience. It also comes highly recommended by Maribel.

I love the Majestic as well. Their suites are really nice and the service is incredible. I have not eaten at Drolma, but have heard wonderful things about it, so if you stay there, I recommend that you get a reservation for the restaurant.

I can recommend hotels in the Barcelona districts Eixample Dreta and Eixample Esquerra. They are close to the gothic quarter, near the beach and are surrounded by nice parks, main attractions and the nightlife is not far away either. Check out the webpage: http://www.barcelonapoint.com Here you can check the availability and price of all hotels in the requested Barcelona zone.
Enjoy your stay. You will like the city!!!

I stayed at the Majestic Summer of 2004 and loved it. Great location, service couldn't be beat and nice rooms. They give you 4 nights for the price of 3 on their web site. I ate at Drolma and found it to be too stuffy and expensive for what we got. As I recall, 40 euros for a cup of soup. I love good food and fancy restaurants, and am willing to pay for them, but thought this was overdone and not worth the price. I'm returning this summer and am staying at another hotel just to try something different. I hope I'm not dissapointed.

I stayed at the Avenida Palace and loved it, breakfast was great and the rooms were very nice and it is close to the Rambal.
