Bakewell for Haddon Hall/Chatsworth-Or Somewhere Else?
The current plan is to tour Haddon Hall on one day and then Chatsworth the next (or vice versa..yes, I know the opening times for both, thanks).
We are thinking of staying on the night inbetween in Bakewell and more specifically at the Hassop Hall hotel.
We are flexible and if someone has another hotel suggestion or even another location (i.e., town) then I'd love to hear about those.
Thanks very much.

Bakewell or anyplace in that general area would be a great base. Dot ry to fit in Hardwick Hall too. An amazing place.
I've only self-catered by the week in the area and haven't stayed in a B&B or hotel so can't help w/ accommodations. If the hotel appeals to you, it will likely be just fine. Maybe someone else will see your post and have other suggestions.

We stayed in a double room at the Hartington Hall YHA hostel, parts of which date from the 1600s. It was perfect for our budget - comfortable room, good locally grown food and locally brewed ales. It's a couple of miles from Bakewell.
But if you'd rather not stay at a hostel, your hotel in Bakewell sounds fine.

Haddon Hall (my favourite manor house) and very atmospheric at this time of the year. When we visited last November there was a blazing log fire in the hearth and the smell of woodsmoke.
Hassop Hall comes out No1 for Bakewell on tripadvisor. I have eaten at the Cavendish in Baslow which was very good
This hotel also comes with excellent recommendation
