Baggage Storage at Brussels Central Station
I will be in Brussels with my wife and two small kids the day before we fly home. Our hotel is at the airport however we would like to explore the city a bit before heading out to the hotel. Are there storage lockers in the Brussels Central Station that we can drop off our bags for a few hours? Thanks in advance for your response.

I'm not sure about Brussels central, but at the Midi station, there is definitely luggage storage...in either lockers or a special attended area (about 3.5 euros per piece).
Is there any reason you can't simply store the luggage at your hotel?

Central is small and ugly, but does have lockers. I used them in September. Same price as in other Belgian stations - 2.6EUR for the smallest one (enough for 22" rollabroad plus a small item). There are two other largers sizes.
I found them on the concourse level -above the tracks, below the street - under some stairs near the northern end. North, meaning closer to Antwerp and Amsterdam, and not Paris.

Thanks everyone for the info - sounds like we'll be able to leave our luggage at the station. BTilke - the reason we can't leave it at the hotel is because we'll be exploring Brussels on the way to our hotel which is at the airport outside of town. Otherwise, we'd have to go to the hotel first and then return to the city wasting a couple of precious sightseeing hours on our last day in Belgium.

Some of the airport hotels are close to the Diegem train station, which is one of the stops on the airport line (the NH hotel, for example, is a very short walk from the Diegem station). In which case, you wouldn't really be going out of your way. Have you checked to see if your hotel is close to one the airport line stops? It might make a difference in your plans. (Assuming of course, that you're not staying at the airport Sheraton, which is literally a 30 second walk from the arrival and departure halls...)

If you are staying at the Sheraton then you DEFINITELY leave your luggage at the hotel before heading downtown. Doing that won't waste any of your time and it won't cost you anything (except perhaps a tip to the bellhop). Really, it's right AT the airport. You'll spend more time dropping off and picking up your luggage at Gare Centrale than you would simply walking the 50 feet or so to the hotel from the airport arrival/departure halls. And if your room happens to be ready, you could even take 15 minutes to freshen up quickly, which would help you enjoy your day in Brussels more.
Have a good trip!

My posts were written with the assumption that you're flying into town. However, if you're arriving into Brussels by train, then you probably would want to stash your luggage at your arrival station (if you're coming into Brussels from Paris, you'll be stopping at the Gare du Midi, not Centrale, so you might want to leave your luggage there). FWIW, I find the Gare Centrale to be depressing and kind of skeevy, although it is the closest to the Sablon and Grand'Place (that's why I suggested the Gare du Midi).
